Product Details

According to WHO 1996, the real problem among children is malnutrition particularly micro-nutrient deficiencies (lack of vitamins, minerals, and essential amino acids). Malnutrition in children hampers their growth and impedes vital functions. Children in South East Asia such as Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam are at highest risk.
Lack of access to highly nutritious foods, especially with rising food prices, is a common cause of malnutrition. Other factors are poor feeding practices, inadequate breastfeeding, offering wrong or unsuitable foods, and feeding children with foods that contain no nutrition.
Malnourished children can be treated at home with "ready-to-use therapeutic foods". These foods ensure that children obtain good nutrition which is essential for survival, physical growth, mental development, performance, productivity, health, and well-being across their entire life-span - from the earliest stages of foetal development through infancy, childhood, adolescence and into adulthood.
Children represent the future, and ensuring their healthy growth and development ought to be a prime concern of all societies.
Because of this awareness 21ST Century HealthCare USA has come out with MILKOVITE. A delicious & nutritious chocolate drink enriched with Calcium, DHA, Folic Acid & Multivitamins. Formulated for children aged one year and above. Because of its wide range of ingredients, it is very beneficial for physical & mental development. MilkoVite is a special ready-to-use therapeutic food formula for children. It must be taken daily for maximum benefit.

Product's Major Benefits

CALCIUM

90% of calcium is in teeth and bones. Bone is living tissue that is continually being broken down and rebuilt. The bone growth rate is highest among children. Ageing and under-nutrition causes stunted growth and bone breakdown.
Adequate intake of calcium in children ensures optimum growth and development. This continues throughout life to help maximize and maintain bone mass and minimize the rate of bone loss.
According to USRDA, children between the ages of 1 to 12 years old require 500mg-800mg. One serving of MilkoVite provides 521mg of calcium - a complete daily calcium source for children.
DHA

DHA is brain food. Most of the dry weight of the brain is lipid (fat) because brain activity depends greatly upon the functions provided by lipid membranes. Turner,N; 90(11):521-523 (2003).
The greatest dependence on dietary DHA occurs in the infant after birth to the age of 9-10 years. It is during this period that the brain develops most rapidly. One serving of MilkoVite provides 26mg of DHA.
MULTIVITAMINS

Vitamin A – It is important for the formation of eyes.

Vitamin B1- Helps in the synthesis of nerve regulating substances and improves mental ability in children.
Vitamins B2 & B3 – Supports metabolism of fats, carbohydrates and proteins into energy and into lean muscle in growing children.
Vitamins B6 & B12 – Known to support the functions of the nervous system and formation of red blood cells.
Vitamin C – It is important for the repair and growth of tissues, cells, gums, bones and teeth.

Vitamin D3 – Improves the absorption of calcium.

Folic Acid – Functions in the formation and maturation of red blood cells. Along with Vitamin B12 it helps in the synthesis of nucleic acid. Folic acid requirements are greatest in conditions where there is rapid cell multiplication such as during growth in young children.

MILK – Milk can be described as one of the most nutritionally complete foods available. According to Ballew et al (2000) milk complements a child’s diet substantially.
